
INSTRUCTOR: CANCELLATION, REFUND & RESCHEDULE POLICY

This Policy applies to all Instructors using the Instruct Me platform and must be read in conjunction with the Instructor Terms & Conditions (“Instructor T&Cs”). In the event of any inconsistency, the Instructor T&Cs shall prevail.
1. Purpose of this Policy
This Policy sets out the rules governing Instructor cancellations, student no-shows, rescheduling, refund authority, and payment entitlement for driving lessons booked through the Instruct Me platform (the “Platform”).
2. Student No-Shows
2.1 A Student No-Show occurs where a Student fails to attend a scheduled Lesson at the agreed date, time, and location without having cancelled or rescheduled in accordance with the Platform rules.
2.2 In the event of a Student No-Show, you shall be entitled to receive payment in full for the scheduled Lesson provided that you were present, available, and ready to deliver the Lesson at the scheduled time and location.
2.3 You must allow a reasonable grace period (typically up to fifteen (15) minutes) beyond the scheduled start time before reporting a Student No-Show.
2.4 Lessons are not automatically deemed completed. Where a Student No-Show occurs, you must notify Instruct Me via the Platform or the designated support channel within twenty-four (24) hours of the scheduled Lesson start time.
2.5 Instruct Me may require supporting information to verify the Student No-Show, including attendance confirmation, timing data, geolocation information (where available), or correspondence records.
2.6 Where notification is not received within the required timeframe, or where Instruct Me is unable to reasonably verify the Student No-Show, Instruct Me reserves the right to determine the Lesson status in its sole discretion, including deeming the Lesson incomplete, cancelled, or refundable.
3. Cancellation by Instructor
3.1 Instructors must cancel any scheduled Lesson via the Platform with a minimum of forty-eight (48) hours’ notice.
3.2 Cancellations made with less than forty-eight (48) hours’ notice may result in one or more of the following actions, at Instruct Me’s discretion:
reduced visibility in Student search results;
temporary suspension from the Platform;
permanent removal from the Platform in cases of repeated or serious breaches.
3.3 Instructors shall not be entitled to payment for Lessons cancelled by the Instructor with less than forty-eight (48) hours’ notice.
3.4 Instruct Me may take into account exceptional circumstances (including medical emergencies or unsafe conditions), but reserves full discretion in assessing such cases.
3.5 Instructor Insurance Expiry
Where an Instructor’s required insurance expires prior to a scheduled Lesson, any
pending or confirmed Lesson shall remain in place, subject to verification by Instruct Me, until 5:00pm on the day preceding the scheduled Lesson.
If the Instructor’s insurance has not been renewed and verified by Instruct Me by that time, the Lesson will be cancelled by Instruct Me.
Any cancellation under this clause shall not be treated as an exceptional circumstance and shall not entitle the Instructor to payment for the affected Lesson.
4. Rescheduling
4.1 Instructors may request to reschedule a Lesson via the Platform, subject to the applicable notice periods.
4.2 Rescheduling within forty-eight (48) hours of the scheduled Lesson may require Student consent and Platform confirmation.
4.3 Repeated or uncoordinated rescheduling may result in account review or enforcement action.
5. Refund Authority
5.1 Instructors must not issue refunds directly to Students or accept payments outside the Platform.
5.2 All refund requests must be submitted through Instruct Me and will be assessed in accordance with the Instructor T&Cs.
5.3 Instruct Me may, at its sole discretion, authorise refunds, credits, or rescheduled Lessons where appropriate.
6. Governing Terms
This Policy shall be read in conjunction with the Instructor Terms & Conditions, which shall prevail in the event of any inconsistency.
